Pool Closed, New Fob System, and more
TL;DR:
- The pool will be closed at the end of Sunday, June 30th, until probably Wednesday, July 3rd.
- To get access through the new pool fob system by Monday, July 15th, please email escaverahoa@gmail.com the information under “New Pool Fob System” for each homeowner 16 and older.
- Pool party requests need to be emailed to escaverahoa@gmail.com.
Hello neighbor!
We have gotten many questions regarding the pool availability, access, parties, and more surrounding our pool and pavilion. The purpose of this post is to hopefully address all of these questions we are receiving.
Pool Maintenance and Closure
Firstly, we would like to announce that the pool area will be closed starting Sunday, June 30th, after close (~9pm), and will remain closed sometime through Tuesday, July 2nd, or, if needed, until Wednesday, July 3rd. We will also put a sign up on the fence to also serve as a notice to the community.
This will be due to pool maintenance on the filter–our filter is running through its 8th season, and we were advised that pool filters should be replaced every 5 years. In an effort to better maintain the pool, our pool vendor will be working through these next few days to complete this costly and labor-intensive maintenance. This is also good information for us to have on a preventative maintenance schedule.
Our hope is to get this completed now, before Independence Day on Thursday, July 4th and its accompanying weekend, so that the community may enjoy a sparkling clean pool for the holiday.
New Pool Fob System
We have gotten many requests for new pool fobs. We have not been able to accommodate these requests due to ongoing issues with the old fob system. After a consultation from our pool fob vendor to look at our system, they advised us that our old system was not only shot, but also outdated and deprecated. This is the reason that our outer pool gate has been unlocked during pool hours.
We have since gotten them to install a new fob system; this new fob system is currently installed and ready to be set up with accesses. (As an aside, upon installation of the new system, the inner pavilion gate’s latch got jammed, leading some homeowners to believe the pool was “locked” or “closed” for some reason; this was not true.) For now, the gate will remain unlocked during pool hours, but the gate will be locked, requiring fob access, starting Monday, July 15th. This will give us roughly 2 weeks to get everyone’s fob access set up.
We need your response, even if you are both current on your dues, and had what was a previously-working pool fob.
The new, more modern fob system will allow pool access via your mobile phone.
However, in order to set up the access, we need the below contact information for every member of your household 16 and older emailed to the Board at escaverahoa@gmail.com:
- First name*
- Last name
- Home address
- Email address*
- Mobile/cell phone number*
*Note: This contact information needs to be unique for each member of your household that is 16 and older.
Pool Parties
As many of you are aware, the Board allows parties at the pool pavilion. Typically, as a courtesy to other homeowners, those who are planning to host a party at the pool pavilion will make a post on the community-managed Facebook group forewarning that they will be having a party at the pool pavilion, giving the date and time.
While this system has worked well, an issue came up where a homeowner had a pool party, without first posting the information on the Facebook group. This led to complaints from other homeowners due to a) lack of notice, and b) the size of the unexpected party (the pool and available tables and chairs were largely all taken up).
While the Board does allow, and will continue to allow pool parties at the pavilion, we cannot let them impede on access to the pool for other homeowners.
That being said, we are now moving to a new system of notifying the Board about any upcoming pool parties you would like to host. We are asking:
- To request pool pavilion parties by emailing the Board at escaverahoa@gmail.com (as there are homeowners who are not on social media), with the below information:
- homeowner(s) name
- homeowner(s) address
- date of the party (preferably 2 weeks notice)
- time of the party (max 3 hours)
- approximate number of attendees (max ~25 attendees)
- To limit guests to 25 people.
Note: The pool pavilion currently has 35 +/- chairs. In order to still serve other homeowners in the community, we cannot allow a party to take up all of the available tables and chairs. - That homeowner(s) are current with all annual dues & fees.
- That the homeowner(s) remain with their party at all times.
- That homeowner(s) remain responsible for cleaning and trash disposal (there is a trash bin by the gate).
- To ensure all guests follow all pool rules.
Please also remember that:
- These parties are first come, first serve.
- There is no exclusive pool access during pool parties; the pool remains open during operating hours for all homeowners.
Lastly, there was some miscommunication on the Board, and I would like to address this: The Board is not approving (or rejecting) pool parties; we are simply making sure there is communication and coordination for them between all homeowners, and that all expectations are met (and that the homeowner is current on dues and fees).
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out, or email us at escaverahoa@gmail.com.
Thank you, and have a blessed rest of your day,
The Escavera Board
